A Nia Renee’ Robertson Foundation Scholarship
Iggie’s House, A Nia Renee’ Robertson Foundation’s goals are to promote diversity through communications; create cross cultural experiences and to provide a scholarship to a deserving individual. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist financially in developing leadership skills, building confidence, and engaging students in serving the community.
In keeping with the foundation’s vision, Iggie’s House, A Nia Renee Robertson Foundation will award an annual scholarship up to $1,200.00 to one or more deserving students who embody the goals of the organization. Scholarships are not automatically renewed, and must be applied for each year.
Eligibility Requirements:
⦁ Applicant must be a US citizen, a legal resident of Louisiana live in one of the eligible parishes listed.
⦁ Applicant must be a Metropolitan High School student of (Orleans or Jefferson parish school systems)
⦁ Applicant must be entering college in the year of graduation or completed at least one semester in a qualified university/college, higher educational institution.
⦁ Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8.
Documentation Required – The Following Must Be Submitted In One Packet:
⦁ Application – must be typed or computer generated. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
⦁ A personal statement – 350 to 500 words detailing your response to the essay question. YOU MUST USE THE PERSONAL STATEMENT FORM IN THE PACKET.
⦁ Two (2) letters of recommendation – (1) a recommendation letter from a non-family member or relative (teacher, counselor, co-worker, friend); and (2) a community service letter of recommendation from a community service representative or coordinator (both letters must accompany the application).
⦁ An official school enrollment transcript.
⦁ Information on where student obtained information regarding scholar-ship availability.
⦁ LA State certified ID i.e. (Louisiana Drivers License or other State issued ID.)
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the applicants based on the following criteria: academic achievement, community service, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.
